California and Washington passed a cell phone law that prohibits driving while using a cell phone. We all do it and a lot of people complain about it.

Public schools should be required to report illegal aliens. It doesn’t make sense not report illegal aliens. I remember having to check a box to report if I was American Indian or Eskimo and so on. It shouldn’t be too much to ask an illegal alien to report their status?

The Supreme Court today upheld the Second Amendment with it’s ruling that citizens have the right to own handguns. In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court struck down the long standing law in Washington D.C. that banned the ownership of handguns and outlawed keeping a handgun in the home.

The D.C. gun ban legislation prohibits residents from keeping handguns inside their homes and requires that lawfully registered guns, such as shotguns, be locked and unloaded when kept at home. Obama recently announced that he is not going to use the Publice Funding funding available for Presidential candidates.
Public Funding was created after Richard Nixon’s campaign when he far outspent his opponent in the election. At the time, the public opinion was that he had a big advantage, because of donations from wealthy individuals and corporations. [...]

McCain’s healthcare plan isn’t perfect, but it’s got a good solid design. We should look at the good parts and not find fault with the weaker parts. The democratic process of negotiating a final plan insures that the weak parts never make it to the final legislation anyway.
